Why did Voldemort wanted to kill Harry Potter?

I am a fan of Harry Potter and to be honest I have followed Harry's stories from when I was just a 5 year old. I love Harry Potter, but I'm not a maniac who knows which page at which book tells what story so you can just consider me as a fan. Not a
potterhead or whatever it is. I don't read all the books either knowing that at that time I can't read really good and uhh, eventually I wouldn't even finish the whole book. (though I managed to finish book 6 :])
But there is just one thing that has always been on my mind. I've told you that I'm not a crazy fan of Harry Potter right? So here's a question... why did Voldemort wanted to kill Harry Potter?
"le boy who lived"
I have been asking like legit everyone I know. They are all no big fans of Harry Potter either, so yeah. I guess I can't like, expect everyone to know every answer to a question. But there must be someone out there who knows. So... I tried the simplest thing anyone could ever done to search for an answer....
Google it. B)
Don't mind the language, my Google is in Indonesian :)
Okay, I admit it. I am the kind of girl who instantly Googles something when there's no way else I can find out. Even sometimes I Google my homework because I'm too lazy to seek for the answers in my textbook. Lol.
Moving on...
Through the amazing Google, I found the place where it holds all of the answers to pretty much
everything. And that is...
Yahoo Answers! Duh.
So I guess I'm not the only one wondering about this...

Nice one. That guy must be such a big fan of Harry Potter, he saw such details. Ahahah, this proofs that I'm nothing compared to those real Harry Potter maniacs. Well at least now I know how amazing the world of internet is, that there's like, pretty much everything there. ;)
